Frontiers in Trauma Studies will offer participants support, accountability, and insight as we explore key texts in trauma studies, therapy, and theory from leading author/researchers/clinicians in the field of traumatology.  Akin to doctoral seminars, participants will read important texts in the field and then come together under the leadership of the presenter to gain greater clarity of the key insights of the text and how to implement those insights in clinical practice. The goal of this program is to support clinicians in accessing vital yet challenging material with clarity thereby enhancing their skills in the treatment of trauma.

2020 Frontiers Series 2 will focus on models of care. In the second module, we will cover formative texts focusing on  Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Sensorimotor, Trauma-sensitive yoga, and spirituality.

*Drop-in participation is available upon request and requires at least 3 drop-in requests in order to obtain CEs.  Drop-ins not requesting CEs are welcome at any time.

Presenter: Rev. Dr. Jennifer Baldwin, PhD, LPC, CIFST, ACS, BC-THM, EMDR, HeartMath Practioner, SE (in training) is Director of Grounding Flight Wellness Center in Woodstock, GA. She has extensive training in Internal Family Systems (Level 1, 2, Somatic IFS) since 2009 and it is her primary model of clinical practice. Dr. Baldwin is one of the three certified IFS therapists in the State of Georgia. She is also trained in EMDR, heart rate variability training, and various somatic and movement practices. Dr. Baldwin’s publications include edited volumes, Embracing the Ivory and Stained Glass: A Festschrift in Honor of Archbishop Antje Jackelén (2015), Sensing Sacred: Exploring the Human Senses in Practical Theology and Pastoral Care (2016), Religion and Science as Political Theology: Adjudicating Truth in a Post-Truth Society? (2018) and Taking It to the Streets: Public Theologies of Activism and Resistance (2018); her monograph Trauma Sensitive Theology: Thinking Theologically in the Era of Trauma (2018).
